Massive Crash Matt for Competition Climbing?

8a.nu reports that a massive inflatable crash matt was tested two weeks ago underneath the very steep competition wall at Arco in Italy. The massive inflatable crash matt is made by Bagjump and apparently will take falls from 50m!

According to the Bagjump website several climbers tried climbing above and falling onto the mat from up to 20m. Could this be the future of competition climbing?
