More Climbing TV - Dave Mcleod and Tim Emmett on BBC Scotland

For the last few months Dave Macleod and Tim Emmett have been preparing for a first ascent on the Scottish cliff of Sron Ulladail on the Isle of Harris. On August 28th they will be filmed making this first ascent by BBC Scotland who are broadcasting the whole climb live.

The Asgard Project to be on TV

The multi award winning film The Asgard Project is to get a TV airing in the UK on September 26th 2010. The film follows Leo Houlding and friends as they attempt to make the first free ascent of the imposing north face of Mt Asgard, located on Baffin Island in Greenland – and then descend using wing suits!

Devil's Thumb Link Up Completed - The Diablo Traverse

American alpinist Colin Haley has made another impressive ascent in Alaska. Climbing with Mikey Schaefer he linked the spires of the Witches Tits, Cat’s Ears Spires and the Devil’s Thumb in one mega traverse that took three days.

Torre Egger Gets Rapid First

Winter Ascent

Germans Stephen Siegrist and Thomas Senf along with Dani Arnold of Switzerland have made the first winter ascent of Torre Egger (2685m) in Argentine Patagonia. This remarkable achievement was accomplished in just three full days of climbing.

Box of Blood E7 6b

In the first week of August this year Leigh McGinley returned with Stevie Haston to the Stigmata buttress of Craig Dorys on the Lleyn Peninsula in North Wales. There he added another line to this steep and relentlessly crumbly sea cliff. Box of Blood was graded E7 6b.

Huge Aid Line Goes Free on

The Troll Wall

Norwegian climber Sindre Saether has made the first free ascent of Arch Wall on the Troll Wall in Romsdal on the west coast of Norway. This 1100m long route was first aid climbed over 20 days in 1972 and graded A4+.

New Route for Belgium Team in Greenland

Nicolas Favresse, Olivier Favresse, Sean Villanueva and Ben Ditto continue to make first ascents of huge sea cliffs around the fjords of Greenland. Using the ship Dodo’s Delight as their basecamp they recently established the The Devils Brew (850m) on ‘Seagull Wall’.
