45 year old Australian Simon Carter is the man behind many of modern climbing’s signature images, such as his celebrated shots of Tasmania’s Totem Pole. A highly skilled climber himself, Carter climbed routes like Serpentine (8a) in the early 90’s, but it is as a professional photographer that he has made his mark over the last 17 years. His calendars and three coffee table books have fired thousands of dreams throughout the climbing world.
