The Prophet is the story of Leo Houlding’s obsession with climbing a new route in Yosemite Valley. First tried nearly ten years ago Leo only recently completed this long term project on the east face of El Capitan which he describes as “the wildest climb I've ever been on”.
Film maker Alistair Lee was there to capture all the action as Leo tried the route. First attempted ground up with Jason Pickles the pair have returned multiple times to climb the line but were always thwarted by the crux ‘A1 beauty pitch’. This part of the climb is traditionally aided and involves a very thin seam for the hands which offers almost nothing in the way of feet. The film shows spectacular climbing in amazing positions as well as the determination and grit required to return time and again to such a difficult route.
The Prophet is one of five films that feature on the new Psyche II DVD from Alistair Lee and Posing Productions. This DVD is FREE when you subscribe to Climb Magazine for a limited time only.
Psyche II does not only feature The Prophet. There are four other high quality and inspirational films to maintain your ‘psyche’ through the darkest and coldest winter months.
