The North Face Road Trip Continues

Gaz Parry and James Pearson have made it to the Czech Republic. The duo are still on course for climbing 20 8a’s in just 40 days all around Europe. So far they’ve managed to tick Britain, Sweden, Denmark, France, Spain, Poland, Austria, Germany and now the Czech Republic.
From their blog it would appear that the Czech Republic is so far the climbing highlight of the trip. Apparently blown away by the quality of the sandstone both Gaz and James have both sworn they’ll be back when they’re not on the clock. Having been climbing lots of sports routes the added ‘spice’ of the Czech system of bolting has probably livened them up. The Czech system for placing ‘massive’ bolts is to climb until you can hang from a sky hook, hand drill a hole for the bolt, glue the bolt in, lower from the sky hook, wait 30 mins for the glue to dry and then climb again until the next place you can hang from a sky hook. This makes for some long run outs and some massive falls.
For up to date news on what Gaz and James are climbing visit their ever expanding and particularly in depth blog. They are at a new climbing destination in a new country nearly every day!
